We take boat to island at 3.00pm and arrive at island 15
minute later. Boat fee return just only RM40 (I get only RM35 huhu J), and there are a lot
of boat trip to the island which are at 8.00am, 10am, 1.30pm (except friday),
3.00pm and the last trip at 5.00pm. I ask the boatman to drop us nearby to our
chalet Captain Longhouse also known as Light house. Well I totally love the chalet,
its surrounding and environment. I will explain more about it in next blog
maybe. Ok back to the trip story, for trip from Kapas to Marang Jetty at
9.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm and 5.30pm. But these trip (to the island and
return) just for Suria Link Boat Service. You can found or take any boat
service at Marang Jetty eg MGH boat service etc.
We start our 40 minute hiking from the Longhouse to
the northern island to see the sunset. Here the map from our chalet to Derdap beach (opposite to Germ Is.).
From this spot, you can directly see Gemia Island
Well actually you still can see the sunset at Mak Cik Gemuk
chalet etc. But I promise you, sunset view most beautiful at the northen Kapas Island, Derdap beach or Pasir Cina beach,
where from here you can see the nearby island, Germ Island. Here the sunset J J
On the evening, after dinner, Din, Daus and I managed to
rest on the lazy chair near in front of the Longhouse. After few times, Din and
I go for a walk to the Turtle Valley. If compared to Perhentian Island (Long
Beach), here are more peaceful. We just sit and have a good conversation under
the full moon, relax with listen to full sound of wave. Well, we thought there are
turtle landing on this area as the name is (Turtle Valley), but as the water are
low tide, I don’t think turtle will land, maybe on the early morning after high
tide.
Morning..!! After a light breakfast (we bought white bread
and tunas before we depart from the mainland), we start our hiking to the Teluk
Berakit (Berakit bay). The trek was behind the cemetery or you can pass the Kapas Coral
Chalet. The entry was not so nice with a lots of mosquitoes surround us (well
of cause this is a jungle right) but when we enter a side, slowly it’s become
better, the trek was not so easy (more difficult than in Wind Mill of Perhentian
Island). To make sure you not loss, just follow the trek with white and red
wood that are bury on the trek. There are lots of sign board (500 meter, 300
meter to Teluk Berakit until you reach there).
After few hours we managed to get back, we use different
trekking, if you from the jungle and looking forward to the open ocean, the
trek was on your right side. Well the trek was more difficult compare to the
previous trek. We need to climb the hill. But went we on the peak its beautiful
with tropical island jungle J
J. The trek was around
1.252 kilometer (if I not mistaken). At the end of the trek you will reach the
Turtle Valley. We managed to have some rest here after that we swim and sunbath
on the buoy that provided by the Turtle Valley Chalet.
View from right side of Turtle Valley, we found bat cave here
We get back to the Longhouse, Din and Daus make a turtle
sculpture on the sand meanwhile I just go swimming again huhuhuhu J J J
After lunch, we just rest near the balcony Din fall asleep
and the rest just go hang up on the hammock provided by Longhouse.
View from my hammock :)
5.30pm
We going back, the wave was so rough with the strong current, and some of us on the boat totally wet hahahaha.
Ahha here the overall of our trek (Red trek color) from the first day, from
Longhouse until the beach that oppositely Gemia Island where we saw the amazing
sunset. The second day where we hiking to the Teluk Berakit and return back
using another trail until we reach Turtle Valley.
