Bukit Keluang
Beach, Perhentian Islands, Kuala Besut Jetty, Terengganu, Malaysia
Bukit Keluang was located at northern part of Terengganu in Besut. Its take around 2 hour to reach this area if you drive by car from Kuala Terengganu,1 hour from Kota Bharu and 30 minutes from Kuala Besut Jetty (Perhentian island Jetty). For this trip, we depart from Kuala Terengganu around 8.00am and reach 2 hours after that. Basically it consists of two parts which are Bukit Keluang beach and Bukit Keluang (Keluang Hill) itself.
11.00am
After warm up, we directly hike this hill to the top, actually it’s not so hard to reach the peak as the hill just around 200-300m high from sea level and its only take around 15min to reach the first peak but as for this time we bring around 20 people including man and woman so its take longer duration to reach there. Bukit Keluang has totally 4 peaks and each peak have amazing scenery of the ocean. You can see Perhentian Island as well as Rhu Island from these spots.

1.00pm
We reach the beach. We rest under the rhu tree and have a lunch while looking the South China Sea. Huhu J After lunch, we play ‘Baling Selipar’ (ok actually this is my request to them hahaha). It’s quite good as all of us are research assistance its good sometimes to have cheat day to plan and run from the lab. Some of us also play kite on the beach. Ahhh if you walk to the right side of the beach, you can found beautiful side of Bukit Kluang Beach, where you can found few small cave and you can cross it to the another side of the beach. The beach was quite long, if I not mistaken if you walk to the right side, you can reach the Bukit Kluang estuary.

After play
around, we managed to play banana boat, well I guess it’s affordable, we just
need to pay around RM10 each person, if you pay more for example RM15 or RM20
they can bring you near the Rhu Island infront of this beach. The beach
actually are safe to swim, or even the kids want to plays around, the water
just around knee level and if you are lucky you can found same Brittle sea star
as well as sand dollar here. Ok actually both of it are common found here. Huhu
:P

We going back to Kuala Terengganu. Bye Bukit Kluang thank you for the amazing vacation. Aahh but don’t worries we will come again!!
